Chip Shot: Intel Embraces SDN at IDF

Posted by in Intel Newsroom on

Intel is pioneering software-defined networking (SDN) as a way to open networks for ultra-high scale, increased flexibility and control and reduced costs. SDN moves network control out of the networking gear, to SDN controllers such as OpenFlow, offering a new level of visibility and automation. With the IDF launch of the Intel® Ethernet Switch FM6764 and Seacliff Trail reference design, Intel is enabling the next-generation of cloud networks. The Seacliff Trail platform uses the FM6764, the Intel Crystal Forest AMC control plane module and SDN-enabled software from Wind River. More information on the IDF announcements can be found here.
