Bloodhound SSC

In November 2009, Intel signed an agreement with Bloodhound to become their Official IT Partner. Since that time the two organisations have been working tirelessly on the twin fronts of getting the car designed and built, and ramping up the education programme to take Bloodhound into schools and universities. July 20th saw several significant announcements related to both of these aims.

These milestones were:

  • That the Bloodhound SSC car would feature Intel® Atom™ processors as part of the stability and control systems.
  • That Intel had committed 26 volunteers from among its UK workforce to become Bloodhound Ambassadors, taking the programme to public events and into schools across the UK.
  • The unveiling of the "Bloodhound Experience", a simulator designed to let members of the public experience what it takes to pilot a car designed to travel over 1,000mph.
