Uday Marty is the Managing Director of Intel South East Asia. He is responsible for Intel’s business in the fast growing South-East Asian markets of Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, Vietnam, Myanmar, Laos, Indonesia, Cambodia, and Brunei. He manages sales, marketing and enabling of Intel products in the region.
Marty previously managed Intel’s global notebook marketing out of Intel HQ in Santa Clara, a role in which he was responsible for driving Intel’s overall notebook business strategy, including platform marketing, consumer product marketing and roadmaps. He also led efforts to define the netbook business strategy, was responsible for netbook category creation, and managed the first netbook platform introduction.
Marty joined Intel in 1996 and spent eight years as a design engineer and manager first in the Enterprise Platform (Itanium) and later Cellular and Handheld (XScale) Group. Subsequently, he worked on defining Intel’s products for the IPTV market in the Consumer Electronics Group. He also worked as the Technical Assistant (TA) to the Corporate VP & GM of Fab/Sort Manufacturing from 2005 until 2007.
He holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from Nagpur University, a MS in Electrical Engineering from Mississippi State and an MBA from Thunderbird. He was a recipient of the Intel Achievement Award in 2008 and 2010.
