There were a number of firsts at the 16th annual Intel Capital Global Summit. New President Wendell Brooks gave his first public address on the future of the world’s largest corporate venture investor. The first-ever Intel Capital Entrepreneur of the Year Award went to Virtustream, whose founders in less than six years took their startup from garage to $1.2B exit (one of Intel Capital’s largest). In another Global Summit first, five existing portfolio companies unveiled new products: Altia Systems, Avogy, Braigo Labs, Fortscale and Two Bit Circus. And with more than $22M in new portfolio announcements, Intel Capital is closing in on $500M in 2015 investments, one of its biggest years ever. Follow all the news from Global Summit.
