Chip Shot: Intel and UN Women Celebrate International Women’s Day, Discuss Intel She Will Connect

In celebration of International Women’s Day, Intel convened with UN Women and the UN Missions of Kenya, Nigeria and South Africa at the United Nations to discuss what bridging the Internet gender gap can mean for women, Africa and the global community. The conversation centered on Intel® She Will Connect, a program that aims to expand digital literacy skills to 5 million women in Africa and reduce the gender gap by 50 percent. The initiative is a direct result of findings in the groundbreaking “Women and the Web” report released by Intel last year, including the estimate that 200 million fewer women are online compared to men.
