Chip Shot: Intel Security Offers Controller-Based Solution for Software-Defined Security

Intel Security is introducing an innovative software-defined approach to securing virtualized environments that also leverages existing infrastructure. The first release of the Intel® Security Controller integrates McAfee Virtual Network Security Platform, a next-generation IPS optimized for Intel® Xeon® based servers, into VMware NSX. Available for beta in September, 2014, the solution is for customers purchasing or evaluating the McAfee Virtual Network Security Platform, and enables dynamic policy synchronization, provisioning, protection and remediation. The Intel Security Controller works with existing management applications to help IT teams and service providers maximize security infrastructure investments. The Intel Security Controller will include support for the Openstack platform by mid-2015. Visit our blog for top reasons to deploy software-defined security.
