Chip Shot: SURVEY SAYS: Tech Security is Top of Mind for Travelers this Holiday


The Wednesday before Thanksgiving is the busiest travel day of the year in the US, and according to a 2012 Intel “Tech Norms for Travelers” survey, technology security and device heist are top-of-mind for travelers. Forty-six percent worry about the security of their Ultrabook™, laptop or tablet while away from home, and rightfully so. The Ponemon Institute study found that more than 12,000 laptops are lost annually in airports. Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) has the most stolen laptops with more than 1,200 devices stolen a week. Do you frequent any of these airports that have the highest frequency of lost laptops?
