|WHAT:||Maker Faire Bay Area
Intel’s passion and commitment to broadening the opportunities for people of all walks of life to both participate in, and be exposed to, the creation of new technologies will be in full effect at this year’s Maker Faire. Visitors will be among the first to get hands-on with the new Arduino 101* board, meet contestants hot from the set of the Intel-sponsored new tech reality TV series, America’s Greatest Makers, fly Intel® Edison powered drones and even turn their hands, literally, to making beautiful music via a gesture-controlled Arduino 101* glove on the new Sound Box* installation.
To honor the 11th year of Maker Faire Bay Area, Intel is celebrating with 11 interactive demo stations all designed to inspire and delight show visitors and bring to life the belief that great ideas and technology can help change the world. Exhibits will include a scratch DJ experience from Thud Rumble*, the famed Intel spiderbots, a carnival-style “race-the-rocking horse” game by Two Bit Circus*, and an Intel® Galileo-powered, IoT-enabled foosball table, among other displays.
In addition, just days before the TV finale of America’s Greatest Makers (May 24, 9 p.m./8 p.m. CT, on TBS) attendees have a great opportunity to meet some of the contestants in person and get up close with their innovations featured on the show. Additionally, Maker Faire attendees can create a professional submission video for season 2, and entries can be submitted until August 19, 2016. If you’ve missed episodes of America’s Greatest Makers, catch up here.
