Intel @ 2018 CES: Day 1 Summary

As day one of the 2018 Consumer Electronics Show wraps up, below is an overview of Intel news from Las Vegas:

Autonomous Driving: Mobileye CEO Professor Amnon Shashua discussed how high-definition maps deployed on today’s cars will play a crucial role in the delivery of a driverless future. He also announced a combined Intel-Mobileye platform for L4/L5 autonomous vehicles, and a new collaboration with Chinese automaker SAIC* Motor. Manufacturing Update: At a gathering of global press and analysts in the Intel booth this morning, Gregory Bryant, Intel’s senior vice president and general manager of the Client Computing Group, confirmed that, as expected, Intel began shipping its first 10nm product at the end of last year. We look forward to sharing more in the future.

Smart & Connected Home: Intel showcased new smart home products and innovations including: new 802.11ax chipsets for faster Wi-Fi, new routers based on Intel’s connected home technology, new Intel-powered smart speakers and new PCs featuring Intel® Smart Sound Technology for hands-free voice control.
