Intel Docuseries Takes Viewers on Emotional Journey of Competing in the Olympic Winter Games PyeongChang 2018

Intel technology is helping to transform the way athletes and fans enjoy the Olympic Games. In a new docuseries called “Experience the Moment,” Intel highlights technologies that are transforming the games.

The docuseries profiles four competing athletes on Team Intel as they connect with loved ones through virtual reality, sharing moments of triumph and perseverance that led them to the games. Intel followed the journey of ice hockey sisters Marissa Brandt (Korea) and Hannah Brandt (USA), snowboarder Ayumu Hirano (Japan), and short-track speed skater Fan Kexin (China), closing the distance between these athletes and their biggest fans.

“One of the hardest parts of competing at this level is being on the road, away from friends and family,” said Hannah Brandt, U.S. Women’s Ice Hockey. “I’m so lucky to be competing in my first Olympic Winter Games alongside my sister, Marissa, who is also a first-time Olympian. For both of us, it’s been amazing to use Intel technology to stay connected with our parents, friends and even fans around the world. The fact they’ll be able to use this technology to experience the games right here with us as we go for gold in PyeongChang makes it even more special.”

Intel will also make history during the Winter Olympics by powering the largest scale virtual reality Winter Olympics event to-date. Together with rights-holding broadcasters, Intel will capture a record 30 Olympic events that will live on the NBC Sports VR app for all fans to experience as if they were there.
