A team from Intel inspects mines in Rwanda to help ensure responsible mineral sourcing. B-roll includes:
- Rwandan miners dig for cassiterite ore, which is processed, refined and smelted into tin for use in solder on computer circuit boards.
- An expanding “bag-and-tag” system helps trace minerals from mine to buyer — to ensure the process is legal and ethical.
- Intel’s Supply Chain Responsiblity and Responsible Minerals Program leaders visit the mines to help shape the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility Goals.
