Great Shots: Lip-Bu Tan Joins Intel as CEO
Intel’s ninth CEO arrives at the company’s Silicon Valley headquarters.

What: Intel on Tuesday welcomed Lip-Bu Tan as the ninth chief executive officer in company history. Tan marked his first day at Intel headquarters in Santa Clara, Calif., picking up his badge and meeting with company leaders and customers. Tan was appointed Intel CEO on March 12, 2025, and is among the industry’s most distinguished and accomplished executives.
“I’m excited to be at day one of the new Intel, and I’m looking forward to working with all the team members,” said Tan. “Clearly there are challenges in front of us, but I’m excited to make an impact and work with employees to really drive to the next era of Intel.”
