Almost every commercial virtual radio access network (vRAN) deployment today runs on Intel Xeon technology.

Those vRANs are about to get a boost in performance and capacity with integrated AI available in the form of the Intel® Xeon® 6 system-on-chip (SoC) for networking and edge.

“By leveraging cloud technologies and fostering close collaborations with partners, we are helping operators virtualize both 5G core and radio access networks – proving that the most demanding, mission-critical workloads can run efficiently on general-purpose silicon,” says Intel’s Sachin Katti, senior vice president and general manager, Network and Edge Group.

“Through our Xeon 6 processors, we are enabling the future of AI-powered network modernization.”
